# Add a zoom by hand

Move the playhead to the moment, then press + on the timeline and choose Zoom. A close-up lands there for you to move, stretch and aim.

Where to find it: Video editor › Pro › Timeline › + › Zoom

1. Switch to **Pro** and move the playhead to the moment you want closer.
2. Press **+** on the timeline’s toolbar and choose **Zoom**. Or double-click the zoom lane, where the video already has one, or press `⌘K` and choose **Add a zoom at the playhead**.
3. Drag the block to move it, and drag its ends to make it longer or shorter.
4. With the block selected, set how close it goes and where it points. See [Edit a zoom](https://pointercam.com/help/edit-a-zoom).

> **Tip:** To zoom over exactly one stretch, hold `⇧` and drag across the footage on the timeline to mark it, then choose to zoom over it.
