# Choose which part of a take a piece shows

Adjust slides a piece along its take: the same length, in the same place in the video, showing a different moment. Pick the piece and press A.

Where to find it: Video editor › Pro › Timeline › Adjust

1. Click a piece on the timeline to pick it.
2. Press `A`, or **Adjust** on the toolbar. The whole take opens, with the part this piece shows marked bright.
3. Drag the bright stretch along the take. The piece keeps its length and its place. Nothing after it moves.
4. Drag its ends to change how long the piece is, or press **Done**.

> **Note:** An image has no take to slide along, so Adjust is for video pieces.
