# Edit a video you already have

Bring an MP4, WebM, MOV or MKV into the library and it opens in the same editor. You can frame it, cut it, caption it and add close-ups by hand.

Where to find it: Library › Import

1. Open the [library](https://pointercam.com/library) on pointercam.com, or in the Mac app.
2. Choose **Import** at the top right, or drop the file anywhere on the library. MP4, WebM, MOV and MKV videos work, and PNG and JPEG screenshots too.
3. Click the new card to open it in the editor.

## What is different about an imported video

A video recorded elsewhere has no track of your clicks, so it arrives without close-ups and without a guide. Everything else in the editor works the same way.

1. Switch the editor to **Pro** with the switch at the top.
2. Drag the playhead to the moment you want closer.
3. Press **+** on the timeline’s toolbar and choose **Zoom**. A close-up lands on the timeline at the playhead, on a new zoom lane.
4. Drag the block to move it, or drag its ends to make it longer or shorter.

> **Note:** Importing copies the file into PointerCam’s storage on your computer. Nothing is uploaded.
