# Edit a zoom

Click a zoom on the timeline to open it. Set its level, aim it at the pointer or a fixed point, change its curve, and drag its ends to retime it.

Where to find it: Video editor › Pro › Timeline › A zoom

1. Click the zoom’s block on the timeline. Its settings open in the column.
2. Set **Level**: how far it pushes in. 2× shows a quarter of the frame.
3. Choose what it points at. Switch on **Follow the pointer** to track the recorded pointer, which suits a demo that moves around. Switch it off for one steady spot, and drag the box on the preview to choose what fills the frame. Pull its corners to go closer or wider.
4. Drag the block’s ends to change when it starts and stops.

- **Movement** chooses how a zoom that follows the pointer pans: with the pointer, or holding steady and panning only for clicks and typing.
- The curve and the lengths of its two ends can be its own, or follow the video’s. See [How zooms move](https://pointercam.com/help/zoom-feel).
- Press `K` to add a keyframe at the playhead and steer the zoom yourself. See [Keyframes](https://pointercam.com/help/keyframes).
- Press `L` to play just this zoom on repeat while you adjust it.
- Press `⌫` to delete it.

> **Tip:** The Pro section **Zoom & Motion › Auto-zoom** lists every zoom in this clip in order. Click one to open it.
