# Bring in a video or a picture

Choose Import in the library, or drop a file anywhere on it. MP4, WebM, MOV and MKV videos and PNG and JPEG pictures work.

Where to find it: Library › Import

1. Open the library.
2. Choose **Import** at the top right, or drag a file onto the library and let go.
3. The file is copied into PointerCam and appears on its shelf. Videos go to Recordings, pictures to Screenshots.

A video you bring in has no record of clicks, so it has no close-ups or guide to start with. You can add close-ups by hand: see [Add a zoom](https://pointercam.com/help/add-a-zoom).

> **Tip:** You can also add another video or an image to a video you are editing, as its own piece. In Pro, press **+** on the timeline and choose **Another video or an image**. See [Pieces and transitions](https://pointercam.com/help/pieces-and-transitions).

> **Note:** Importing copies the file on your computer. Nothing is uploaded.
