# Open a picture in the screenshot editor

Open any screenshot from the library’s Screenshots shelf, bring in a PNG or JPEG, or send a frame of a video to the screenshot editor.

Where to find it: Library › Screenshots

- **From the library**: open the **Screenshots** shelf and click a card.
- **A file**: choose **Import** in the library, or drop a PNG or JPEG on it.
- **A frame of a video**: in the video editor, move the playhead to it and choose **⋯ › Open it in the screenshot editor**.
- **Just taken**: press **Edit** on the bar under a screenshot.

The picture opens already on a background, ready to save as it is.
