# Fit, fill or crop the recording

Choose how the recording fills the video’s shape: Fit shows all of it, Fill crops to the shape, Follow fills and pans with your pointer. Crop trims what the video keeps.

Where to find it: Video editor › Pro › Scene › Placement

- **Fit**: Shows the whole recording, with background around it where the shapes differ.
- **Fill**: Crops the recording to the video’s shape, so no background shows.
- **Follow**: Fills the frame and pans with your pointer, so a demo that walks across a wide screen stays in shot. Useful for a 9:16 video from a wide screen.

## Crop the shared screen

1. Open **Scene › Placement** and choose **Crop the shared screen**, or select the recording and press `C`.
2. Drag the box on the preview to choose what the video keeps.
3. Press **Done cropping**.

To move or resize the recording in the frame, drag it on the preview, or pull a corner to scale it. **Reset position** and **Reset crop** undo either.

> **Tip:** For a crop that changes during the video, add a timed crop: in Pro, press **+** on the timeline and choose **Crop**.
