# Fade the pointer when it stops

The pointer can fade out when it sits still, and back in just before it moves or clicks. Choose how long it waits first. For takes from the Mac app.

Only in the Mac app. Chrome records your real pointer as part of the picture, so the editor cannot change how it looks or moves. In a Chrome take you can still [show your clicks](https://pointercam.com/help/click-effects) and [spotlight the pointer](https://pointercam.com/help/spotlight).

Where to find it: Video editor › Pro › Cursor › When idle

1. Open **Cursor › When idle** in Pro.
2. Turn on **Fade when idle**.
3. Set **Fade after**: how long it sits still before it fades.

> **Note:** Typing and scrolling count as sitting still. A click does not.
