# The pointer’s shadow

A shadow lifts the pointer off the screen. Set its strength, where the light comes from, and how soft it is. It falls under your own pointer pictures too.

Only in the Mac app. Chrome records your real pointer as part of the picture, so the editor cannot change how it looks or moves. In a Chrome take you can still [show your clicks](https://pointercam.com/help/click-effects) and [spotlight the pointer](https://pointercam.com/help/spotlight).

Where to find it: Video editor › Pro › Cursor › Shadow

- **Shadow**: **None**, or how strong it is.
- **Shadow offset**: Where the light comes from. Further away reads as further off the screen.
- **Shadow blur**: How soft its edge is. 0 is hard. Wide and faint reads as height.
