# Pointer shapes: arrow, hand and I-beam

The pointer changes with the page: a hand over links, an I-beam over text. Pick another shape for any moment, keep one shape throughout, or hide it while typing.

Only in the Mac app. Chrome records your real pointer as part of the picture, so the editor cannot change how it looks or moves. In a Chrome take you can still [show your clicks](https://pointercam.com/help/click-effects) and [spotlight the pointer](https://pointercam.com/help/spotlight).

Where to find it: Video editor › Pro › Cursor › Pointer › Shapes

- **Changes with the page**: An arrow, a hand over links and buttons, an I-beam over text: the pointer the page asked for, in the shapes you choose.
- **One shape**: The same pointer for the whole video, whatever it is over.

1. Open **Cursor › Pointer** in Pro and find **Shapes**.
2. For each moment, **Pointing**, **On a link or button** and **Over text**, open its menu and pick a shape, or a picture of your own. The play button beside a moment jumps to the next time it happens in the take.
3. Under **While typing**, choose **Show it** or **Hide it**. Hidden, the pointer goes while you type and comes back when the mouse moves.

In Simple, the **Shape** row under Smooth cursor offers **Changes** and **One shape**.
