# Change how the pointer looks

Pick one of 9 pointers and colour it with a ready-made ramp, a gradient or a colour cycling rim. For takes from the Mac app.

Only in the Mac app. Chrome records your real pointer as part of the picture, so the editor cannot change how it looks or moves. In a Chrome take you can still [show your clicks](https://pointercam.com/help/click-effects) and [spotlight the pointer](https://pointercam.com/help/spotlight).

Where to find it: Video editor › Pro › Cursor › Pointer

1. Open **Cursor › Pointer** in Pro.
2. Pick a pointer. The 9 sets are System, Snow, Bold, Flat, Slate, Studio, Dart, Comet, Halo. They change shape with the page and take your colours.
3. Under **Colours**, pick a colour for the body or the rim.

- **Show cursor**: Off takes the pointer out of the video. Clicks can still be marked.
- **Pointer colour**: A solid colour, a gradient, or one of 7 ramps: Iris, Ember, Marine, Meadow, Dusk, Steel, Frost.
- **Rim colour and Rim weight**: The outline round the pointer. A weight of 0 removes it.
- **RGB rim**: Cycles the rim through the colour wheel as the video plays. **RGB speed** sets how fast.

In Simple, **Smooth cursor** switches between PointerCam’s drawn pointer, with the shake taken out, and the pointer as recorded. Its size and shape are in the rows under it.

> **Tip:** To use a picture of your own as the pointer, see [Use your own pointer](https://pointercam.com/help/your-own-pointer).
