# Spotlight the pointer

Dim everything but a soft circle under the pointer, so the eye goes where you are working. Set its size, darkness, blur and edge. Works in Chrome and Mac takes.

Where to find it: Video editor › Pro › Cursor › Spotlight

1. Open **Cursor › Spotlight** in Pro and turn it on.
2. Set how it looks.

- **Radius**: How wide the lit circle is.
- **Darkness**: How much the rest is dimmed. Past about 60% the surrounding screen stops being readable.
- **Blur**: Blurs everything outside the circle. Off keeps it sharp.
- **Edge softness**: How gradually the circle fades: a hard edge, or a soft vignette.
- **Screen only or Whole frame**: Whether the dimming covers just the recording, or the background too.

A step-by-step guide has the same spotlight for its pictures. See [Marker, spotlight and zoom](https://pointercam.com/help/guide-marker).
