# Light and dark appearance

Choose System, Light, Dark under Settings › Appearance. Every PointerCam window follows it, and so does the Chrome extension.

Where to find it: Settings › Appearance › Theme

1. Open **Settings**.
2. Under **Appearance**, choose a picture: **System**, **Light** or **Dark**.

- **System**: Follows your computer’s own light or dark setting, and changes when it does. This is where PointerCam starts.
- **Light**: Always light.
- **Dark**: Always dark.

The choice reaches the library, every editor and the recorder at once. In Chrome it also reaches the extension’s popup and pages, the newest choice winning.

> **Note:** Your exported videos, guides and screenshots look the same whichever appearance you use. The appearance is only the app’s.
