# Which clicks PointerCam follows

The Mac app follows clicks in every app. The Chrome extension follows clicks on web pages, in tab, window and screen takes alike.

PointerCam keeps a record of where the pointer goes and where you click while you record, 120 times a second. That record is what places the close-ups in the video and the steps in a guide.

- **Mac app**: Every click, in every app and window on the display you record.
- **Chrome, a tab**: Every click on the page you record.
- **Chrome, a window or screen**: Clicks on web pages in Chrome. Clicks in other apps are in the picture but not tracked.
- **A video you import**: No clicks at all. Add close-ups by hand.

When a Chrome take might have missed clicks in other apps, the editor says so under **Auto-zoom**, so a missing close-up is never a surprise.

## What else is recorded

- When you type, so the camera can hold on the field while you fill it in. Only the timing is kept, never the keys, and nothing at all from password fields.
- Scrolling, so a fast scroll is not mistaken for something to zoom in on.
- The pointer’s shape, so an arrow over text becomes an I-beam in the video too.
