Auto zoom screen recorders
The screen recorders that zoom in on your clicks.
Eight tools that add close-ups where you click, so viewers see what you pressed. Each is listed with where it runs, its free plan and its price, read from its own site, and what it is best for. We make PointerCam, so it comes first; the rest follow in alphabetical order.
Each tool’s facts are from its own site, read on 15 October 2026, with the pages under each tool below. PointerCam’s are from our pricing.
PointerCam
Best for: A video and a step-by-step guide from one recording
PointerCam records in Chrome on Windows or a Mac, or in its Mac app, and opens the recording with a close-up on each click, arriving just before you press. The same take becomes a step-by-step guide you export as PDF, Word, a web page or Markdown.
The free plan exports 10-minute videos at up to 1080p with a small mark, and Studio removes it. There are no share links: you export files.

How to choose
Start with where you record. On Windows, Camtasia, Canvid, FocuSee and Tella have apps, and PointerCam, Cursorful and Screenity record in Chrome. On a Mac, all eight record, though Canvid needs Apple silicon and macOS 15. Screen Studio runs only on a Mac.
Then decide how you share. Screen Studio, Tella, Canvid and FocuSee make share links, as do Cursorful Pro, Screenity’s editor and Camtasia through Screencast. PointerCam makes files, and the step-by-step guide beside the video.
An editor made for your first video
PointerCam opens a recording already finished: close-ups on your clicks, every click marked, ready to export. The editor starts in Simple, which shows what was done and the choices most videos make, one row each, like zoom strength, captions or the background.
The first time you open it, a short tour points out each part. When you want more, Pro lays out every setting, and ⌘K finds any of them by what it changes or by a problem you type, like “silence”.
