Hide passwords and private fields
In Chrome takes, PointerCam notices password, email and key fields as you record, and the editor offers to cover each one for exactly as long as it shows.
Chrome only
Where to find it
- Video editor
- Simple
- Suggested
Nothing is hidden while you record. The take keeps everything, and the editor offers the covers, so you can check each one and change it.
- 1Record a take in Chrome as usual.
- 2In the editor, look under Suggested in the Simple column.A card says Hide 2 sensitive fields, with the number it found.
- 3Press Cover them. Each field gets a cover that follows it as the page scrolls, for as long as it is on screen.
- 4Play the take through and check.
What it looks for#
- Password fields. The page says what they are, so these are always found.
- Email and username fields.
- Fields named like keys and codes, such as API keys, tokens, one-time codes and card security codes. This is a guess from the field’s name and label, so it can miss one or flag one too many.
