What PointerCam makes

One recording gives you a video that zooms in on every click, a step-by-step guide built from the same clicks, and screenshots you can mark up.

Mac appChrome

PointerCam is a screen recorder for showing people how something works. You record once, the way you normally work, and PointerCam keeps track of where you clicked.

From one take#

  • A video. Each click becomes a close-up, so viewers can read what you pressed. You can change the background, the pointer, your camera and the sound, then export an MP4, WebM or GIF.
  • A step-by-step guide. The same clicks become numbered steps with a picture each. Most steps already say what you clicked, like Click “Billing”. Save it as a PDF, a Word file, a web page or Markdown, or copy it into a document.
  • Screenshots. Any frame of the video, or a screenshot you take on its own, opens in the screenshot editor, where you can add arrows, numbered badges and text, and blur anything private.

Where it runs#

  • The Mac app records any app, window or display and follows your clicks everywhere on your Mac. Its editor is built in.
  • The Chrome extension records a tab, a window or your whole screen, and follows your clicks on web pages. Its editor opens on pointercam.com, in Chrome.
  • The web editor at pointercam.com also opens videos you already have, with no extension installed.
