Where your recordings and files are kept

Everything you record and edit stays on your computer: in Chrome’s storage for pointercam.com, or in the Mac app’s own folder. Nothing is uploaded.

The extension records into its own storage, then hands the take to pointercam.com in the same browser, where the library and editor keep it in the site’s storage on your disk. The handover is a copy on your computer, not an upload.

The site’s storage belongs to this browser on this computer. Another browser or another computer has its own, empty library.

  • Exports are saved where you choose to save them, normally your Downloads folder.
  • There is no account and no PointerCam server holding your work.
  • To move your library to another computer or browser, make a backup and restore it there.

The privacy page explains what PointerCam sends over the network, and lets you check it.
