Styles: save a look and reuse it

A style remembers how a video looks and puts it on another in one click. 12 starter styles come built in, and you can save, share and import your own.

Put a style on#

  1. 1Press Styles in the header.
  2. 2Click a style under Your styles or Built in.It is one change, so ⌘Z takes it off again.

The starter styles are Standard, Launch, Tutorial, Shorts, Feed, Golden, Midnight, Bug report, Help center, Paper, Gallery and Ink. Each is made for a kind of video: a launch, a tutorial, a vertical short, a bug report and more.

Save your own#

  1. 1Set the video up the way you like it.
  2. 2Press Styles, then Save this look.
  3. 3Name it, and tick what it should remember.Parts you leave unticked stay as they are on the video you apply it to.
  4. 4Press Save style.

A style remembers decisions, never facts about one take: the background, frame, cursor, camera layout and look, caption look, zoom pacing, opening and closing, click and key sounds, logo, intro and outro, and export settings. Cuts, zooms and caption words stay with their video.

More you can do with a style#

  • Start new videos with it. Every new recording opens wearing it. Only one style can do this.
  • Update. Writes this video’s changes into the style it wears. The header shows a dot when the video has changed since the style went on, and Undo my changes puts the style back as it was saved.
  • Share as file. Saves it as a .pointercam.style file to send to someone, with any pictures it uses.
  • Import. Choose a .pointercam.style file, or drop one on the Styles panel.
  • Delete. Removes the style. Videos wearing it keep their look.
