Where to find it
- Video editor
- Simple
- Look
- Shape
In Simple, the shape pill under Look offers 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1. In Pro, the shape chip in the header offers every shape:
- Auto
- The recording’s own shape, whatever it is.
- 16:9
- Widescreen, the usual for a walkthrough.
- 9:16
- Phone-shaped, for Reels, Shorts and Stories.
- 1:1
- Square, for feeds that crop everything else.
- 4:5
- Portrait feed, the tallest Instagram allows.
- 3:4
- Portrait classic, 4:3 stood up.
- 4:3
- Classic, for slides, docs and older screens.
- 21:9
- Ultrawide, a cinematic banner.
Every layout is drawn from the frame, so the camera, captions and window keep their design in a tall or square video.
